The Founding

A hook that brings color to the room.

In 2018, former e-commerce executive Eli C. walked into his son's classroom and saw the same dull, broken metal hooks every school seemed to settle for — gray, forgettable, and constantly falling apart. He knew there had to be something better: a hook kids would actually want to use, in colors that made a hallway feel alive.

That search led him to Toughook — hooks in over 20 vibrant colors and four sizes, tough enough to last a lifetime. He saw how a wall of color could turn an ordinary cubby row into something kids could call their own: a red hook for one, a blue for another, a whole rainbow that made "find your spot" effortless. Driven to bring that joy stateside, Eli partnered with Toughook UK to become their exclusive U.S. distributor.

A climbing center in Glasgow placed an order for the brightly colored hooks. Being the perfect opportunity to showcase how strong and lasting these hooks are, Tony asked the gym to put them to the test.

The climbing gym responded by creating a climbing wall out of them. A hook that can support the weight of a person climbing will support the weight of your bag, coat, and more.

The Origin

The hook that's made to last

The metal hooks that have become standard everywhere are more than an eyesore. The slender and rounded design of the hooks you grew up with are dangerous and break easy. Founder and creator, Tony, wanted a safer alternative that was strong and colorful.

In 2006, Toughook was born. With their flat design, these hooks solved the problems about safety and durability. The vibrant colors turned any dreary area into a brighter space. After selling thousands of hooks to educational furniture retailers, it was time for these unique hooks to evolve.

Toughook became the official brand of the product in 2012.
